The game that makes counting as easy as 1, 2, 3! For over 30 years, Hi-Ho! Cherry-O has delighted children and parents with its simple, yet fun introduction to counting. Each player chooses a tree and places 10 cherries on it. In turn, children try to be the first to pick their trees clean, filling their buckets with 1,2,3 or 4 cherries. Watch out for the dog, the bird and the spilled bucket! If you land on the dog or the bird, you must place two cherries back on your tree! If you land on the spilled bucket, you have to dump all the cherries out of your bucket, place them back on your tree and start over! This is a  great counting game that requires no reading!

With the cold weather setting in again, I’ve been thinking about all the games that my sister & I used to play as a child. We bought Yahtzee for my step-son this past Christmas and I was very surprised that he had never played before. It’s time to bring back family game night and put those video games down. I think for the next few posts, I’m going to highlight some of my favorite games that we played growing up!
